Intimacy Counseling

Sex Therapy &
Intimacy.

Reclaiming connection and confidence

Sexual health is an essential part of your well-being, yet it's often surrounded by silence. We provide a safe, judgment-free space to explore issues of desire, function, and connection.

Moving Past the Shame

Sex is often treated as a taboo subject, which means when problems arise, people suffer in silence. Shame, anxiety, and misinformation can turn a natural part of life into a source of stress and disconnection.

At Ascend Therapy, we believe sexual health is mental health. We provide a professional, clinical, and completely judgment-free environment to address the physical, emotional, and relational aspects of intimacy.

It's All Talk Therapy

A common misconception is that sex therapy involves physical touch. It does not. Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy.

We explore the psychological, biological, and relational factors contributing to your concerns. By understanding the root causes—whether stress, trauma, communication gaps, or performance anxiety—we can help you find practical solutions.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

No. Sex therapy is strictly talk therapy. There is never any sexual activity or nudity in the therapy room. Exercises (like Sensate Focus) are assigned as homework to be done in the privacy of your own home.

Not necessarily. We work with both individuals and couples. Many people come individually to work on performance anxiety, trauma, or understanding their own sexuality. Couples come to work on their dynamic.

Absolutely. We adhere to strict HIPAA confidentiality standards. We understand the sensitive nature of these topics and prioritize your privacy and comfort above all else.

Feeling nervous is normal. However, our therapists discuss these topics every day. They are trained to make you feel comfortable and to normalize your experiences. There is nothing you can say that will shock us.

We address the psychological and relational aspects of sexual problems. If there is a potential medical cause (like hormonal imbalances or physical pain), we will collaborate with your physician or refer you to a medical provider for a check-up.
