About Takeisha Rheams

Adolescent Therapist Naperville Takeisha RheamsMy expertise is working with adolescents and young adults. I’ve worked in a varied educational settings such as an alternative school, therapeutic day school, Chicago public schools and at North Central College.

While at those schools I aided adolescents and young adults to overcome their stressors around family, academics, and relationships. As well I helped them navigate struggles with anxiety, depression, self-harm, and low self-confidence. During this time I discovered I enjoy working with challenging issues, including oppositional defiance and impulsivity. This experience has helped to cultivate a passion for working with young people to help guide them through these challenges.

Therapy is a collaboration between the therapist and client. As such I strongly believe in providing a safe space where you can speak openly and be assured that you are not being judged but instead heard. My therapeutic approach is sincere, compassionate and down to earth. My role is to help you navigate through the process of improving the quality of your life and to help you acknowledge your strengths and achieve positive change in your life.

My therapeutic style is a mixture of Client Centered and CBT. Utilizing these methods I will give you a hands-on way of tackling your problems. You will learn how to help yourself as I believe therapy should not be a lifelong process. You will learn to identify and address your painful thoughts and feelings to to make healthier choices in your behaviors to move you towards your goals. I look forward to being a part of your journey.
