I interweave these three treatment styles based on the needs of the client. You may be wondering how CBT and ACT can co-exist. From my years of working with clients, I have come to the conclusion that certain thoughts can be re-framed and seen from a different perspective while other thoughts have been around for so long that nothing will budge them and that is where ACT comes in. I make it a point to explain to my clients not only what treatment/skill I am using, but why as I believe that if you understand why we are doing what we are doing, then you will have more buy in into the process.
